Photography in the Vines

Your digital camera manual may have taught you the basics, but
probably not how to take the best pictures.
Our one-day "Photography in the Vines" workshop will be taught
by Con Keyes, a former photo editor and photographer for the
Los Angeles Times. Con was a member of two Pulitzer
Prize-winning teams at the Times. He is also a
former university professor of photojournalism and a judge for the
Hearst Foundation photojournalism competition in San Francisco. Con
has taken many photos for us here at Benovia; we can attest to his
professionalism and extraordinary talent, not to mention he is a
joy to work with.
Whether your digital camera is a simple point-and-shoot or
top-of-the-line model, you can learn how to take much better
photographs. Con will start by showing you how to compose an image
for maximum impact, and then help you refine your skills throughout
the day with every click of the shutter.
You'll also learn the importance of editing your photographs --
a secret the pros use to turn their shots into real show-stoppers.
As a bonus, learning good photo editing techniques will help you
frame your shots better through the lens the next time.
You will participate in two photo assignments here at our
beautiful Russian River Valley winery, and then have your work
reviewed and receive pointers on how to capture even better images
the next time.
You can bring any type of digital camera to the event. And
prepping for this class is easy - just arrive with a basic
understanding of your camera's functions and settings, and Con will
take it from there.
If you have a laptop computer that is compatible with your
digital camera, bring it along to get the full benefit of the
editing techniques Con will teach you.
After you sign up for the workshop, Con will call you to answer
any questions about the event, and find out what specific
photography skills you would personally like to improve upon.
Lunch is on us, accompanied by a little Benovia wine.
