“This is my favorite photo of Del and how I will remember him,” shared Benovia co-founder Joe Anderson.
WWII veteran Del Tiedeman was a dear friend of Joe’s and this memorable shot of Del flying The Spirit of Benovia was taken on Veteran’s Day – a rare bright spot in 2020. At 100 years old, Del took over the controls and flew The Spirit of Benovia over the San Francisco Bay along with Pilot Paul Bazeley.
Del was a lovely gentleman and a brave WWII pilot who flew several missions on D-Day and saved countless lives by airlifting injured soldiers out of combat zones. He passed away on April 15th at 100 years old and will be greatly missed.
